A message from Ms. Sheets from Geneva, Switzerland:

Today is the first day of  the 17th Meeting of States Parties to the Mine Ban Treaty in Geneva, Switzerland. The meeting is taking place at the United Nations, Palais des Nations.

Today, all of the nations attending are meeting in the Plenary. There will be a formal welcome from the Secretariat followed by declarations from attending nations and organizations. PSALM will be recognized as part of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines and the Cluster Munition Coalition.

On Tuesday we will begin lobbying sessions with individual countries. I will meet with the delegation from Palau, a country that is still dealing with un-exploded, underwater and above ground ordnance from WW II.

Everywhere I go, people ask “how are the PSALM students?”. PSALM students and supporters….please know your work is recognized and appreciated all over the world!

Off to work….sending love and prayers to all, Ms Sheets
