A message from SFdSCCS STEAM teacher, Mrs. Badzek:

On March 2, 2023, I am sponsoring a second annual blood drive at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Last year’s blood drive was a huge success, with over 40 donations!

On March 20, 2020, I went to the emergency room due to massive blood loss while 30 weeks pregnant with my third child, Maximus. As a result, I received ten units of blood during the emergency surgery. This annual blood drive is how I honor those who donated blood and the medical staff who saved my life and Max’s.

It is also an opportunity to teach students about the importance of blood donation, why we do it, who it helps, and that it is safe and necessary through The American Red Cross’ program “Future Blood Donor.” If a student has an adult donate blood during the drive on March 2nd, they will receive a certificate and a prize from The American Red Cross. Each blood donation saves three lives, and donors are always needed. Please consider donating using the attached information. Volunteers are also needed to help out with donor registration and the canteen area. If you are interested please contact me at jbadzek@sfccs.org.

With your donation, we can help save many lives and make this blood drive a success!

With gratitude,

Mrs. Jennifer Badzek
