Saint Francis School is pleased to announce our first service initiative for the 2015-2016 school year.

The “Birthday Barrel” is a project for the entire Saint Francis community. It provides an opportunity for our students and families to give birthday presents to children in our area who would otherwise have nothing to open on their special day.

Here’s how the Birthday Barrel Donation Drive works:

Beginning Monday, Sept 28th, please bring new, unwrapped toys, games, or other appropriate kid gifts to the birthday barrel;

Gifts can be for a girl or a boy, or can be gender-neutral; bdaydrive1

Gifts for all ages are welcomed;

Donations will be collected and counted on the cafeteria stage;

FSA will coordinate delivery to Christian Help, who maintain a special closet of these birthday toys just for parents looking for birthday assistance.

We will close this campaign on October 17th at the St Francis Fest. Our goal is to provide 500 toys to Christian Help by that time. Just think of making 500 kids have happier birthdays!

Even though this drive will end, our Birthday Barrel is ready for your donations all year. So please keep this project in mind when you find a great deal on a toy or when planning for your own children’s birthday parties.  “Or donations to the Birthday Barrel in lieu of gifts” is always a great way to encourage “Here to Serve, Not to Be Served” among our children.
