A running club will be offered for children in grades K-5. The plan is to have one Kids Run the Nation program, but separate the curriculum/programming for three unique groups:  all students in grades K – 2, girls in grades 3 – 5, and boys in grades 3 – 5. All will fall under the large umbrella of Kids Run, but each group will have their own coordinator to tailor the program for the group’s specific needs.  We are very excited to continue this program at St. Francis and provide this opportunity for the kids to experience the fun, physical rewards and health benefits that running can bring to life.  Kids Run the Nation curriculum not only trains kids to run, but also teaches important lifestyle lessons about hydration, nutrition, goal setting and sportsmanship.

The program will start on February 25 and continue for six weeks.  The program will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays with sessions beginning at 3:00 p.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m.  If a child is not picked up by an authorized adult by 4:00 p.m., the child will be sent to keepers.  In the event of inclement weather we will make cancellation decisions as soon as possible.  We will post any cancellations or alternate locations on SF buddies and via email.   Our goal is to train the children to successfully take part in the St. Francis Run for Education 5K or the accompanying One Mile Fun Run on April 4.

Registration for the program is $40 per child.  This charge will go towards program supplies, water, and snacks for the kids.  You can send in cash, a check payable to SFCCS or ask that the registration fee be taken out of FACTS. Registration can be completed using the link below.  A liability waiver must also be signed and returned for each participating child.
