Congratulations 2026 Aquinas Winner: Lillian Magruder
Eighth grader Lilian Magruder has been chosen as St. Francis de Sales Central Catholic School’s 2026 Aquinas Medal Winner, which is the highest award a student can receive from the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston.
Through the Aquinas Medal award, the diocese recognizes one student from each school at the highest academic grade level who embodies the qualities they seek to instill in them. The Medal is not intended as strictly an academic recognition but “to make visible those young people in our schools who embody the spirit of the school’s mission and the philosophy of Catholic school education.”
Lillian is the daughter of Kathryn Kasicky Magruder and the late John Magruder of Morgantown, and Class of 2030 brother, Benjamin. Congratulations to Lillian and the Magruder family on this wonderful honor!
