imageMonongalia Arts Center (MAC) is pleased to host the annual Monongalia County Schools Visual Art Exhibition from April 10 – May 2, 2015.

The public opening reception for this exhibition was held at the MAC on Friday, April 10, 2015 from 5 – 7 p.m. The South Middle School Jazz Ensemble performed in MAC’s Tanner Theatre at 6 p.m. during the opening reception. MAC exhibitions and receptions are open to the public and do not have admission fees.

The Monongalia County schools exhibition occurs annually, highlighting the creativity of students throughout Monongalia County.  Over the years, the exhibit has become a community and visitor favorite.

The exhibition also serves as an opportunity for the students to make real world connections, see a real working art gallery, and see their own work on display. Past participants have described the exhibition as an “inspiring milestone.”

4th grade art students “ART-Ts” are on display in the silver factory at the MAC. Also on display, art elective student projects: THERE IS A SEASON book arts projects, SELFIE PORTRAITS, and YOU CAN READ ME LIKE A BOOK on the main floor galleries.
