On September 27th, PSALM students set up 5 tables of displays to educate visitors to West Virginia University Heath Science Center Global Health Week events. Attendees included medical staff, students and members of University faculty.

PSALM’s presentation included ICBL’s Anniversary video. Displayed maps allowed students to discuss reported use of landmines by Myanmar and point out problem areas in need of clearance. Talking to visitors in the medical profession allowed students to explain the need for health care and rehabilitation, as well as psycho-social and socio-economic support for survivors.

New PSALM members are mentored by older PSALM students and receive experience interacting with the public. Other lectures presented at the event focused on medical issues in Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala, South Africa and Ghana.
