We are excited to announce the 2nd annual One Day of Giving program at St. Francis de Sales Central Catholic School! During our first year of this program, we raised over $47,000, going well beyond our $30,000 goal, and that is all thanks to our wonderful community of current families, alumni, supporters, and friends. This year, we are hoping to once again come together in a day of giving on November 28, 2017.

We are pleased to announce that the 2017 SFCCS One Day of Giving Project is the Library Enclosure with a goal to raise $35,000. The library is the central hub of our school where all students, Pre-K 2 through 8th grade, pass through and use daily. Unfortunately, with constant traffic comes constant noise. People walking through the halls, coming back from lunch, or using the restroom interrupt presentations, read-a-louds, and classes that are trying to use the space. We want to preserve the integrity and aesthetic of our building, while creating a highly functional academic space.

As seen in the rendering below, there will be windows and glass doors that will allow people to see in and out of the space, but will still maintain the quiet that teachers and parents deserve. Additionally, we will be adding teacher resource rooms to cut out the constant noise of the copier and give the faculty a work area.

We are also pleased to announce that this One Day of Giving will also be dedicated to the memory of Father Colombo Bandiera, who was a great mentor to our school and who passed away in February 2017, and the finished product will be named in his honor. After his passing, we were blessed with an anonymous donation in his name of $50,000 and the establishment of the Father Bandiera Memorial Fund. We are hoping to combine this One Day of Giving and the Father Bandiera Memorial Fund to make the Father Bandiera Library a reality for SFCCS.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

From 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28th until 8:00 a.m. on November 29th, people will be able to donate and share their love for St. Francis. You can either return the envelope sent home with a donation or donate online at www.sfccs.org under the “One Day of Giving” tab of the Advancement section.

We will again have grade Power Hours and Matching Donors to try to reach our goal. Please know that any amount, from the smallest to the largest donation, will help SFCCS tremendously. Let’s make this One Day of Giving better than the last and GO TROJANS!

SFCCS ONE DAY OF GIVING PROGRAM: WHAT IS IT?

This event will take place on November 28th, linking it with the nationwide charity initiative Giving Tuesday that has over 40,000 organizations that participate in 71 countries. We want to prove that the SFCCS community is just as generous as any of those 40,000 organizations by raising $35,000 for our school!

JOIN IN THE FUN!

The day is not only about giving, but about celebrating the St. Francis community as a whole!  We are also asking anyone who gives to share on social media with the hashtag #trojansgiveback so that we can all connect that day.

We are up to the challenge.
