The first GATE trip of the school year was to the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh on December 4. All grade levels in the program went on the trip and we were joined by parent chaperones and Mr. Moore!

Once at the museum, our group split up to take a private tour of the Egyptian exhibit and have a private lesson about the culture of the ancient Egyptians. This part of our day was a follow up and conclusion to our first unit of study this year.

In the afternoon, the younger students got the opportunity to go on a dinosaur fossil dig in the bone quarry and the older students went on a specially designed quest throughout the museum! The purpose of these activities was to open up new areas of study for our students- it will be interesting to see the different directions their studies take them!
