As an extension of our study of the importance of monasticism not only for the Church, but also society as a whole, our eighth grade class had the opportunity to tour the grounds of St. Vincent Basilica, Arch Abbey, and College. Our tour guides were Fr. John Peck and Fr. Fred Byrne.
In addition to our tour, we got to pray together as a class community on the bus, in the Monk’s chapel, and in the Basilica’s basement sanctuary. We ate mass quantities at the campus food court, did a lot of walking, and were so fortunate to have a day without the snow that had been forecast.
