The 2015 St. Francis National Geographic Geography Bee was held on January 16, 2015 in the school gym. Nineteen students from Grades 4-8 competed for the school title. They had qualified from preliminary bees held in their homerooms.
Patrick Ryan (6th Grade) defeated Robbie Minard (8th Grade) during an exciting championship round that extended into sudden-death to win the school title. Patrick Koon (6th Grade) and Andreas Schmid (7th Grade) tied for 3rd place.
Patrick Ryan will now complete a test to advance to the West Virginia State Geography Bee. If he can win that competition, Patrick will travel to Washington D.C. for the National Geographic National Geography Bee.
