math field dayThe West Virginia State Mathematics Field Day is established to promote increased student participation in classroom and extracurricular mathematics. One of the primary objectives of the math day is to demonstrate that mathematics is truly an exciting and challenging subject to study. Not only do math days demonstrate that math can be fun, but also they are designed to:

  • Stimulate greater interest for mathematics;
  • Recognize students who excel in mathematics;
  • Provide the opportunity for interaction of peers with common interests and or abilities.

In addition to the above, it serves the purpose of discovering students with exceptional mathematical ability. The students will be provided with the opportunity to participate in a challenging mathematics setting to give them the encouragement and recognition they deserve. From these students, a team or teams will represent the state in interstate mathematics contest and competition.

Congratulations to our St. Francis students. Great Job!
